FCS & Futures Test Drive Center

McKevlin’s Surf Shop is proud to offer the FCS Test Drive Center.  For absolutely NO CHARGE, you can check out any FCS fins on your own board. 

Changing up your fins has always been a great feature in fine-tuning your board.  If it feels a little stiff, you can try popping in a GS or GX in your trailer fin plugs.  If your G5’s seem to be a little tight, check out the more upright GYU’s or something smaller like the G3000’s.  You can even experiment with the super-light/super-stiff carbon fins or extra-drivey CRV’s.  There are infinite possibilities and combinations at your disposal.  If your board’s not everything you want it to be, you don’t have to settle.  And, with our Test Drive program, you can borrow a set of fins to make sure they work for you before you spend any money.

          Before hitting the water you just need to show us your driver’s license and sign a waiver that you’re responsible for the fins, you’ll return them on time, and you won’t sue anybody if you get hurt.  As always, you need to be 18 or older to make this agreement stick.  So, if you’re under age, just get someone else to sign up for you, and you’re on your way to better performance.

          Now, McKevlin's has also been chosen as one of the country's few Futures Test Drive Centers.

          Futures Fin Systems has become the #1 removable fin choice of many surfboard manufacturers.  Their line-up includes templates designed by Eric Arakawa, Al Merrick, Jeff "Doc" Lausch, Doug Haut, John Carper and others.  In addition to fiberglass and composite they also offer carbon fins in varying degrees of flex (soft, medium, and stiff) as well as the highly-acclaimed Vector Force Fins..

          Like the FCS Center, for absolutely no cost you can use any of these Futures fins on your board. Try as many of their templates as you like before spending money on the one that suits you best.
